Noisia (or NOISIΛ) is a Dutch electronic/drum & bass trio, consisting of musicians/producers Nik Roos, Martijn Sonderen, and Thijs de Vlieger, all from Groningen in the Netherlands.

Since their first underground releases in 2003 (on Shadow Law Recordings and Nerve), Noisia have explored a variety of electronic genres – including electro house, dubstep, liquid funk, breakbeat, and drum & bass – as well as successful collaborations and remixes with major electronic artists like Moby, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Skrillex, and Deadmau5.

By the late 2000s, Noisia’s production and remix talent were attracting greater and greater success, with a UK chart entry in 2010 as producers of Hadouken!’s album “For the Masses” (#19 in the Albums Chart). In April 2010, Noisia’s first studio album “Split the Atom” was released – and then given a special edition re-release on Deadmau5’s own Mau5trap label.

The group took their name, NOISIΛ, after spotting the word ‘vision’ printed on an upside-down videotape – also the inspiration for the group’s own label, Vision Recordings. The trio is prolific and inventive collaborators, having produced and released recordings under the names Drifter, Hustle Athletics, and Nightwatch. In 2013, Noisia and hip-hop group Foreign Beggars together released the “I Am Legion” album as a supergroup of the same name.

Each year, Noisia play some of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals including Identity Festival, Lowlands, and Stereosonic; in 2012, Noisia headlined at Coachella. Acting as curators for their own “Noisia Invites” events, featuring some of their favorite artists, Noisia’s influential talent-spotting events have spread from Amsterdam and Groningen in the Netherlands to Berlin, Germany and London, UK.

To date, Noisia is three-time winners of the Beatport Award for Best Drum & Bass Act, also picking up the award for Best Drum & Bass Single at the 2013 Bass Music Awards (for their collaboration with Skiddle on “Could This Be”).
