John O’Callaghan

John O’Callaghan is a trance DJ and producer hailing from Navan, Ireland who debuted in 2003. He is one of the most respected Irish electronica artists of his generation and has released three studio albums along with eight mix albums, including the massively acclaimed Subculture series.

Ever since O’Callaghan played a slot on a New Year’s Eve 2003 show broadcast by the Irish radio station 2FM, he has been one of the premier trance artists in the world of electronica. Soon after the 2FM slot he was signed to John Askew’s record label Discover, on which he was releasing hugely acclaimed remixes by 2005. Not only were these remixes critically successful, but the original artists were taken with them as well. Armin Van Buuren, in particular, liked O’Callaghan’s version of “If You Should Go” so much that he personally contacted him to remix another track on his album “Imagine”. For an artist with his level of prestige and respect, it’s strange to think that it was 2007 before he got around to releasing his debut album “Something To Live For”.

By this point, O’Callaghan was all momentum. In 2008 he became one of only four Trance DJ’s to spin an Essential Mix on BBC Radio One, and as EDM slowly started become the sound of mainstream pop, his profile has only gotten bigger. He’s had residencies on the Globalgathering world tour and continues to have hits with both his remixes and his original music to this very day. As an artist whose critical and commercial success is matched only by the respect his peers have for him, John O’Callaghan comes highly recommended.
